Ms Lisa has a degree in elementary education from Montana State University. She has over 10 years of experience teaching children from preschool through second grade. She was a cooperative preschool parent with her own daughter and loved everything about the experience. Lisa has taught at Tahoma Cooperative Preschool for 2 years and likes to create an atmosphere for students to grow and learn through a variety of hands on experiences. She especially likes to focus on engaging circle time activities that include songs, stories and movement.
Ms Lisa enjoys being very active in her daughters’ lives by volunteering at their school, coaching their sports teams and spending a great deal of time in the car chauffeuring them to their numerous activities during the week. As a family they enjoy hiking, camping, biking, skiing, traveling and watching sporting events. Miss Lisa also enjoys to spend time in the kitchen cooking and baking up delicious creations. She lives in the Covington area with her husband, two daughters, dog, two cats and fish.
Emeralds & Amethysts Teacher
Ms Christine has been teaching children from various cultural backgrounds since 2003. She worked as a reading clinician for 5 years and as a preschool teacher for almost 9. She earned a bachelors degree in Home Economics at the University of the Philippines and pursued further studies in the area of Special Education. Further, she has conducted teacher trainings in literacy.
Christine is passionate about early childhood education as it allows her to witness and be a part of a child’s development. She delights in nurturing every child’s special gift and looks forward to bringing those gifts to light. Through providing an environment that allows free exploration coupled with fun, meaningful, and engaging interactions, Christine strives to cultivate a community of lifelong learners.
In her spare time, Ms Christine enjoys biking and playing video games with her husband. She is currently learning how to sew, while honing her guitar skills.
Sapphires & Diamonds Teacher
Ms Pam comes to the co-op from Tahoma School District where she has taught in their developmental preschool program. She has spent close to 13 years in public school working with preschool and elementary students.
Her family relocated to Maple Valley 4 ½ years ago from Omaha NE. She grew up outside of Chicago and has spent 10 years in Kalamazoo, MI and 9 years in Omaha, NE. She began her career in Marketing working for 15 years for a fortune 500 company and then decided to stay at home and begin her family. After years of volunteering in her children’s school she decided that was her place. She began with her children in a school very similar to the coop and is happy to return to that very special environment.
MS Pam hopes to create a classroom environment that fosters the children’s social, emotional and academic development.
Her family loves the outdoors, camping, exploring and hiking. MS Pam lives to cook, bake and is an avid reader. She is trying very hard to teach herself to knit!
